Over recent months we’ve seen the Republican nomination process all but wrapped up by Senator John McCain in what many believe was an upset. Similarily on the Democratic side, Senator Obama has come from no-where to catch-up and now leads Senator Hillary Clinton. Is is the year of the upsets?! So where to next for the Democrats?
The past week has been littered with calls from Senior Democrats for Hillary Clinton to withdraw from the race. She has, of course, refused to quit the race, and seems very intent on competing in all the remaining primaries - meaning the democratic process could go on all the way up to June with a convention in July - thats if they can move the convention forward from November. We’ve furiously debated this at ThugVillage Forums and come to the conclusion that moving the convention forward is the only reasonable way for the democratic party to draw a line in the sand under the nominee process.
But there are a number of factors at play for Hillary Clinton. First of all she has accumulated debts of 13$ million! That includes 5$m she loaned her own campaign. Were she to withdraw now she would have to repay 8$ million out of her own pocket to lenders. Its a strong reason to stay in the race and keep fundraising if nothing else!
Secondly, Obama may make another ‘Reverend Wright’ moment. Any mud Hillary has thrown hasn’t stuck and has rebounded badly on her. Obama is the type of canditate where his only enemy is himself - and he may well make another blunder and find himself in trouble and scandal! The longer Hillary drags out the race, the better the chances of this happening. Slim they may be, but happen they might.
Thirdly and finally the longer she stays in the race, the more likely it is that she can bargain for either a position of power or help in paying off the debts she has accumulated. She will also need an endorsement from Obama for the NY senate Elections - after all she has alienated a lot of the black community there in NY with some of her comments, and could be in real trouble retaining her seat. A call from the Obama camp for donors to dig deep and contribute 20$ to Hillarys campaign, plus an endorsement at the appropiate time for Hilliary for the senate elections from Obama, may go a long way to helping Clinton to decide to withdraw. Plus there is always an offer of a suitable position within the new White House, but I don’t think Vice President will be the position on offer!

So my own opinion is that first of all this is going to run until the end of the primaries. Hillary will not concede the race until all primaries have been held. At the end, if Obama still leads by say 120-130 delegates the super delegates will then row in behind him before the convention is held. At that stage Hillary will begin negotiating with Obama for her endorsement for the senate, help in fundraising and of course any available position she can get.

Adobe Device Central looks cool, very cool. I’ve not tried it in the public beta of Photoshop, which I now read has a beta version of it included.
I’ve had a bunch of clients recently ask for handheld stylesheets and thankfully I’ve had a Windows Mobile device on hand to test them out. I’m about to sell it though, and even with an actual device, I’m still limiting myself to one platform.
Has anyone spent time using this tool? If so, how have you found it so far? It looks great, but who knows how it will actually work until I get a *final* copy of it.
Come to think of it, maybe this is just for flash mobile… I really hope not, but I suppose that would make sense.

You can often get a credit card, but it will come with very high interest rates, so if you don’t pay, the credit card company gets it’s mileage out of the risk it takes.
